At today May 7 2025, I’m 64 years of age, married with René and we have 2 aduld childeren.
I was diagnosed with ALS in September 2001, after 3 years of vague complaints.
I started as a level 5 nurse in home care and after a number of management positions I stopped working as head of HRM in 2002.
I am 10 year a board member of the Dutch ALS patiëntenvereniging with the portfolio care.
I am also a volunteer at the muscle disease-wide patient association 'Spierziekten Nederland'.
I am no longer understandable and my arms and legs are almost completely paralyzed. I am blessed with a lot of energy and I love traveling and being busy.
